Saturday Evening Worship - 5:30 pm Each Week

Saturday Evening Worship 2007 Photos

Saturday Night Service at 5:30 pmWe have expanded our worship opportunities at Our Saviour through the addition of a new service. This service continues to grow as all learn and enjoy this new opportunity to worship in a casual and more contemporary style.  This service is something Lutherans and others can connect with, but it will include a less formal worship style than our traditional Sunday morning services.   Saturday night worship services began last November at OSLC. So far the response has been very good with attendance now averaging 80+ people per service. Come and add your voice to our worship and bring a friend who hasn’t been attending worship.  Tell your friends, co-workers, neighbors, and family members who don’t have a church home about all our opportunities for worship, growing in faith, serving others, and sharing of God’s love in and through Our Saviour’s congregation. Through us and other Christians, God is restoring ALL THINGS to God in Christ.   Faith Growth for Children K-5th grade on Saturdays at 4:30pm started in January! This every week education time is where kids get in the Bible and the Bible gets into kids. Every week, kids explore God’s Word in large groups and small groups. Worship and prayer are the responses to what they’ve learned. This time is intended to help kids build deep and lasting friendships with God through the Bible. There will be no education for children on Saturday, March 22nd!

Our Role in Mission

·    Plan a worship service in a style that is commonly referred to as a contemporary service that has an informal feel and less traditional music but still retains the basic tenets of the Lutheran catholic tradition

·    Support the pastor in planning and executing the worship service

·    Select and support the music director in providing resources and selecting song material needed to accomplish the music components of the service

·    Identify, recruit, and train assistants needed during the service; including, worship leaders, singers and instrumentalists, communion assistants, greeters, sound technicians, and hospitality hosts

·    Periodically review the service to identify improvements and correct problems

·    Identify annual budget requirements for the music director and other needs peculiar to this service and submit to the council for inclusion in the annual budget

·    Educate and pass along information to the congregation and church council information regarding the style and pattern of the Saturday service and how it differs from the Sunday services as well as progress and problems and needed changes

·    Provide, enhance, and energize the worship experience through staying informed of changes to this style of service, identifying successful services in other churches, and listening and acting on the suggestions of the congregation to improve the worship experience

·    Maintain sensitivity in our activities to the diverse backgrounds and traditions of the congregation members

·    Faithfully carry out all duties in a manner that enhances and complements the overall worship experience at Our Savior Lutheran Church
